Biennial Of Illustrations Bratislava 2023

BIB is an international showcase of Slovak illustration since 60’s. For the competition of the festival's visual identity, we submitted a work that celebrates the phenomenal festival logo and intertwines it with illustrations of characters loosely inspired by classic Slovak fairy tales.

Matúš Buranovský is a creative director and graphic designer. He specializes in visual identities, campaigns and editorial design. He is responsible for the visual identity of the Creative Center in Nitra, the redesign of the architecture magazine Arch. He has been a long-time collaborator with the organisation behind Days of Architecture and Design festival in Bratislava and Qubus Design Studio. He co-founded the platform finkner.me, which aims to raise the quality of book design in the Czech and Slovak scene. It was also the birthplace of the extensive publication titled "Papier v knihe" (Paper in the Book). He is a multiple laureate of the Slovak National Design Award.
